What is Solar System

The solar system refers to the collection of celestial bodies that orbit around the Sun. The solar system consists of the Sun, eight planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune), dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and other objects.

The solar system is held together by the force of gravity, with the Sun at the center exerting a strong gravitational pull on all the other objects in its vicinity. The eight planets orbit the Sun in nearly circular paths called orbits, and each planet has its own unique set of characteristics, such as size, composition, and atmosphere.

The solar system also contains several asteroid belts and the Kuiper Belt, which is a region of space beyond Neptune that contains many icy objects, including dwarf planets such as Pluto. Comets also originate from the outer regions of the solar system, and they can occasionally be seen as they pass through the inner solar system.

Studying the solar system provides insights into the origins and evolution of our planetary system, and it also helps us to understand our place in the universe.
